English Camomile (Roman Type) and other
Essential Oils from Camstar
In 1899 Augustus Bruce Starke
became established as a supplier of Essential Oils. In 1925 he purchased
Chestnuts Farm and his son Ronald Bruce Starke commenced producing English
Essential Oils of Camomile, Sage, Lavender, Peppermint, Dill and Angelica.

In 1963 Richard Bruce Starke
took over growing these crops for distillation and, after modernisation
of the processing equipment necessary to cope with the increased
production due to export orders, he widened the range of products.
He has included fresh frozen, rubbed and dried Sage, Parsley, Chives,
Thyme and Tarragon for culinary use as natural flavours for meat
products, pies, pizzas, cheeses, etc.

Seed is also produced from a
number of these herb crops, also largely for export.
A new subsidiary company has recently been created to market mainly the
culinary herbs known as Camstar Herbs Ltd.
